Anyone can submit an event through your Yodel widget using the Add Event option in the filter bar. As the calendar owner, you control whether those events appear on your calendar.
This article walks you through how to review, approve, or remove a manually submitted event.
Step 1: Understand How Manual Submissions Work
When an event is submitted, the calendar’s account owner will receive an email notification.
This email includes a direct link to view the submitted event in Yodel.
Important: If you did not receive an email notification, please check the following:
- Check your spam or junk folder
- Confirm that the email address on your Yodel account is the one you are actively checking
- Ensure that email notifications are enabled in your Account Settings
Depending on your setup, the event may:
- Automatically appear on your calendar, or
- Require you to manually add it
Step 2: Open the Event From the Email Notification
- Open the email notification
- Select the link to view the event
- Log in to your Yodel account if prompted
Step 3: Review the Event Details
Once the event opens, review all event information carefully (title, date, location, description, etc.) to determine whether it should appear on your calendar.
Step 4: Locate Your Calendars (Plug-Ins)
At the very top of the event, you’ll see buttons representing all of your available calendars (plug-ins).
Each button shows whether the event is currently included on that calendar:
- Blue button = Event is currently on that calendar
- Gray button = Event is not on that calendar
Step 5: Approve an Event (Add It to Your Calendar)
If the event is not already on your calendar:
- Click the button for the calendar you want the event added to
- The button will turn blue, indicating the event has been added
No additional saving is required.
Step 6: Deny or Remove an Event
If the event is already on your calendar and you do not want it to appear:
- Click the blue calendar button
- The button will turn gray, removing the event from that calendar
This immediately removes the event from your widget, API, and iCal feeds.
Helpful Notes
- You can approve an event for one calendar and not another
- Removing an event does not delete it from Yodel, only from your calendar
Changes take effect immediately
