Want a cleaner, more curated event display on specific pages of your website? You can easily hide the filter bar on the Yodel plugin to create a simplified viewing experience.
This feature is designed for highlighting events in select areas of your site, not for your main public-facing calendar. For full calendars, we recommend keeping the filter bar enabled so users can browse, search, and explore events easily.
When to Use This Feature
Hiding the filter bar works best when you want to feature events in a more intentional, curated way, such as:
- Homepage sections showcasing just a few featured or upcoming events
- Blog posts where you want to embed related events within content
- Landing pages focused on a specific campaign or promotion
- Seasonal or themed pages (e.g., Summer Events, Holiday Happenings)
- Partner or sponsor pages highlighting select events tied to that partner
- Email campaign landing pages driving users to a specific set of events
- Tourism or highlight pages featuring “top picks” or must-see events
💡 Pro Tip: We recommend switching to List View when hiding the filter bar for the cleanest, easiest-to-scan experience.
When Not to Use It
To keep your main calendar fully functional and user-friendly, we do not recommend hiding the filter bar on:
- Your primary events calendar page
- Pages where users expect to browse all events
- High-traffic discovery pages where filtering is important
Keeping the filter bar visible in these areas ensures visitors can easily search, sort, and explore everything your calendar offers.
How to Hide the Filter Bar
To hide the filter bar, simply add:
?hide_filter=true
to the end of your data-src URL in the installation script.
Example Script
<script
id="yodel_script"
class="yodel-script"
src="https://events.yodel.today/js/widget/embed.js"
data-src="https://events.yodel.today/y/widget/{plugin id}?hide_filter=true"
data-max-height="0">
</script>
What You’ll See
Once added, your embedded calendar will display without the filter bar, giving you a cleaner and more focused event experience for that specific page.
Think of it as a way to curate the story you’re telling with your events—while keeping your main calendar powerful and fully searchable.
