Once your Yodel calendar is configured the way you want it, the final step is to install the Yodel Widget on your website.
There is no separate “Activate,” “Publish,” or “Go Live” button in Yodel for Widget calendars. Your calendar becomes live on your website once the Widget code has been added to the appropriate webpage and that webpage is published.
Before You Install Your Calendar
Make sure your calendar is set up exactly how you want it in Yodel, including:
- The events you want displayed
- Event rules and filters
- Calendar layout and appearance
- Any other Widget settings you want to use
Once everything looks right, you're ready to install the calendar on your website.
Step 1: Find Your Widget Installation Code
From the Plug-In Manager, locate the Widget you want to install and select the Edit option.
From there, you can find the code needed to install the calendar on your website.
Learn how to find your Widget installation code here.
Step 2: Check Your Destination URL
While you're editing your Widget in the Plug-In Manager, make sure the Destination URL is correct.
The Destination URL is the URL of the webpage where your Yodel calendar will be installed.
For example, if your calendar will be located at:
https://www.yourwebsite.com/events
then your Destination URL should be:
https://www.yourwebsite.com/events
The Destination URL should match the page where the calendar is actually installed.
Important: If you move your calendar to a different webpage later, make sure you update the Destination URL in Yodel as well.
Step 3: Add the Widget to Your Website
Copy the Widget installation code and provide it to whoever manages your website. This can be you, another member of your team, your website administrator, or your web developer.
The code should be added to an HTML block on the webpage where you want your calendar to appear.
Recommended page width
For the best experience, we recommend placing the Widget in an HTML block that is at least 1,300 pixels wide.
This gives the calendar enough space to display its content and allows it to take up a good amount of real estate on the page.
For additional recommendations, see our Widget Installation Best Practices guide.
Step 4: Publish Your Website
Once the Widget code has been added to your webpage, publish your website.
Your Yodel calendar should appear on the page immediately after the website is published.
Some website platforms also allow you to preview the page before publishing. If your website platform supports this, you may be able to see the Yodel calendar in the preview before making the page live.

In Short
If you're wondering “How do I activate my Yodel calendar?”, there's no separate activation step.
The process is:
- Set up your calendar in Yodel.
- Find your Widget installation code in the Plug-In Manager.
- Confirm your Destination URL matches the webpage where the calendar will live.
- Add the Widget code to an HTML block on that webpage.
- Publish your website.
Once the webpage is published, your Yodel calendar is live!
