Our copy feature allows the same event to appear on the calendar for multiple specific dates. This is useful for events that occur on several days in a row or on select dates, such as festivals, exhibits, or multi-day community events.
Unlike recurring events, which only display the next upcoming occurrence, duplicating events will display on the calendar for every selected date at the same time.
Step 1: Add a New Event
At the top of your Yodel page, click Add Event.
Step 2: Choose Who You Are Posting For
You can create the event:
On behalf of your organization, or
On behalf of another organization
Select the appropriate option before continuing.
Step 3: Enter the Event Date and Time
Enter the event’s First Date and Time.
-
Example:
Start Date: March 7
End Date: March 7
Then enter the Start Time and End Time, this needs to be true for every occurrence of the event
Step 4: Select the "Copy" Option
After entering the date and time, choose how the event should appear on the calendar:
Single Event
Recurring Event
Copy Event
Select Copy.
Note:
Recurring events only show the next occurrence on the calendar until the previous one passes.
Duplicating events show every occurrence of the event on the calendar at the same time.
Step 5: Select the Event Dates
After choosing Duplicate, you will be able to select the dates when the event should appear.
Click each date the event should take place.
Select Submit once all dates are chosen.
Step 6: Complete the Event Details
Fill out the remaining event information:
Confirm the time zone
Enter the event title
Add the event location
Write an event description
Select categories
Upload an event image
Add a tag
Enter an event website
Step 7: Save the Event
Click Save to publish the event.
After selecting Save, a confirmation prompt will appear indicating that event creation was successful.
From this confirmation screen, you can:
Add the event to one or more of your plugins, or
Select Continue to return to your events.
Result
Once saved, the event will appear on your calendar for every date you selected. Each occurrence will display individually so users can easily see the event on every day it takes place.
Each event is treated individually, so if the time, date, location, etc. changes for one event, you can easily update it without affecting the others.
✅ Tip:
Use the duplicate feature for:
Multi-day festivals
Conferences
Events happening on specific dates (at the same time) within a week or month
Use recurring events for events that repeat regularly, such as weekly classes or monthly meetings.
